Goffin won at least 6 games in a row there, could have been more (he was leading 3-2 in the second set when I started watching). But Djokovic is such a great competitor.
* as an aside, I presume everyone saw the Nadal result? Lost to Lopez in a third set breaker. Tough to see a champion seemingly in terminal decline. It's part of the regeneration, as players rise and fall, but it is still hard to follow.

I was fortunate enough that Brazilian TV showed the last few games of the 3rd set live. Have to say that what I saw was of an unbelievable standard by both players. How Andy came back and pulled that one out, I will never know. It was a comeback of "Dan Evans" proportions - well almost LOL.
And for those who haven't read back through this thread, Andy was a double break down in the 2nd set at 1-4* and also *2-5 down in the 3rd. He also saved an MP on his own serve. in that 3rd set.
QF : (3) Andy Murray WR 2 vs (12) Richard Gasquet (FRA) WR 13 (CH 7 07/07)
If Andy can win that one, Fed would have to win the title to deny Andy the Nš2 seed spot at the US Open.
Thanks for the more detailed description Bob. I am stuck in work, so was restricted to live scores only.
Stupid question, but for the US Open Draw, are 1 and 4, and 2 and 3 always seeded to meet in the semis? To put it another way, is there a major advantage to being 2 versus being 3?

No, 1 could meet 3, and 2 could meet 4, it's decided randomly. The major advantage to being 2 instead of 3 is that you avoid 1 until the final.

Seeds 3 and 4 are randomly allocated to the top and bottom halves.
So if seeds 2 and 3 end up in the same half then it has effectively not particularly mattered which way round they were seeded.
But seed 3 could be drawn in the same half as seed 1, clearly Novak. Seed 2 certainly won't be.
