A month ago saw the French national champoinships for 14 years and under.

Mylene (second seed) won, beating Loudmilla (top seed) 6-1 6-4

So you've got the two top french girls there, for Holly and Esther.

To think Holly is still an Under 12 player. This is a fantastic tournament for her.

Holly was unable to repeat yesterday's heroics but Anton stunned the TE number 1. It isn't as much of a shock as it may appear at first sight. Anton has been playing a few ITFs recently with limited success, but his only TE14 event was the Bolton Teen Tennis Category 1 event before Les Petits As, with a strong field. He won that (representing USA, where he was born, though he has been based mainly in Kent for some years I gather), serving notice of his ability.

Boys R4

Anton Matusevich d. (1) Timofey Skatov (RUS) 6-7(4) 6-2 7-6(5)
(3) Jack Draper d. Carlos Gimeno Valero (ESP) 6-4 7-5

QF

Anton Matusevich v (7) Nicolas Alvarez Varona (ESP)
(5) Wojciech Marek (POL) v (3) Jack Draper

Girls R4

(5) Ivana Sebestova (CZE) d. Holly Fischer 6-4 6-2

Great day for the boys, and, although sad to Holly lose, she's still done really well this week.

Yes, great win for Anton. I was looking at the Tennis Europe Rankings and he's just outisde the top 100 having played only 3 tournaments. Top ranked players have played around 11 or 14. Clearly, if he'd played as many, he'd be much higher. In fact, if he carried on that points to tournaments ratio, he'd be number 1 with only 11 tournaments played!

QF

(7) Nicolas Alvarez Varona (ESP) d. Anton Matusevich 6-3 6-3
(5) Wojciech Marek (POL) d. (3) Jack Draper 6-2 6-1
