A number of British seeds lost in round 1 including Camille upset by Gemma Heath, who was in the European Summer Cup U14 team over the weekend

13 year-old Gemma Heath is continuing to create a stir, putting out the fifth seed.

French player Juliette Collard (age 14, whom I know very well) has also beaten sixth seed, Alex Hunter after having beaten fourth seed, Holly H, yesterday.

And Megan beat Sofie W

I wonder why Megan is playing grade 5, she should be at grade 2/3.

 Megan has only ever played grade 4 and 5 and when I saw her in a strong Grade 5 she has head and shoulders ahead of anyone and the like of Eli-Rose Griffiths, Nell Miller and Eliz Maloney were all playing.

This is only her third tournament this year, so I assume either injuries, exams or finances have been the issue

Brilliant run from Gemma who is over two years younger than Megan (a huge difference at their age). Still only 13. And her first ITF. Wow.

Gemma becomes I think the youngest Brit to win her maiden ITF in the last decade (There are a handful of younger winners, with Tara Moore at 13yrs 2 months the youngest, but they had all played at least one tournament previously. Other girls such as Eleanor Dean won their maiden ITF, but not at 13, unless I have missed someone)
