Katie really struggled to land her first serve in that 2nd set. Did well to save bp in a couple of games with decent serves, while Kenin made an error on another bp opportunity.
What was the conflict about with the umpire in the second set? I was watching Murray on my TV while keeping an eye on Katie without sound on my iPad so I missed what it was all about

Not sure exactly. The umpire wanted the point replayed after Katie had hit a backhand out. The debate was about whether Katie had hit her shot before or after whatever event took place that caused the point to be replayed. From watching it again, I think a can of balls got blown over in the wind just below the umpire (there was quite a loud noise), who couldn't see so instinctively wanted the point replayed. The noise occurred well before Katie's shot so seemed like a correct decision.

1st time I've seen Katie live, and the most obvious strength is the serve, very impressive average speed stats. Lower % going in than would be ideal (49%), and she isn't quite as tall as I would have thought either, tall enough though.
Good mover, so very exciting to watch her development, plenty to work on, but got core strengths which should give her a very sucessful senior career. No obvious sign of any injury, so fingers crossed, she can continue to make progress this week.
What court is the final on on Saturday, should she get that far? In other words will a ground pass be sufficient?
There are no fixed rules about the day or court for the final - it could be on Saturday or Sunday. However the way they have scheduled matches this week is consistent with aiming for Saturday for the Singles and Sunday for the Doubles. Court 1 is commonly used for Junior finals, but they sometimes end up on an outside show court. However if Katie reaches the final I am sure they will play the final, as with Laura, on Number 1
Kuzmova was part of the Slovak team that beat Maia, Jazzi and Gabi in the World Junior finals in 2012. If successful in the quarters Katie's semi-final opponent will be one of two young Russians, 14 year old Potapova or 15 year old Zhuk
Blimey, Katie's opponent was a bit mardy. If she can get that serving % up, she could end up blowing a lot of juniors off the court I reckon. I'm glad that Katie isn't playing doubles, if only because she is clearly good enough to be aiming for junior grand slam titles, which would rank above being JWR 1, I hope.
