Got back from a meeting and thought I would follow the last couple of points of Katie's match - turned into a nervy 10 minutes but job done in the end. It seemed like she was the better player for most the match and unlucky it got so close. She also found out that closing out a match at Wimbledon can be tricky.
42 winners and 42 errors from Katie, so it looks like the match was all on her racquet.
Good on her. That's the way to play - take it to the opponent and earn the points, which shows why she can seamlessly move between juniors and seniors.
Massive wins for Anna and Maia, can't say I saw either coming, very nice surprise. And probably expectations for Katie can 't be too high given her injury, just hope she doesn't make it worse, but its tough to pull out of your home slam.
After beating one top 5 player Maia gets another (former)

Junior tennis, and indeed tennis in general, is such a joy and a mystery ...
Last week, Anna Brogan got trounced at Roehampton, looking like a clay-courter completely out of her comfort zone on grass, and Freya Christie was relentless, neck to neck with the very top players there.
And this week, it's all change !
Good luck to the girls today, both singles and doubles.

That's junior tennis for you. You never can tell what's going to happen. There is one common denominator though - whoever makes less errors almost always wins with the exception of the very courageous few who can make lots of errors but accompanied with equal amount or more of winners who end up winning. Level of fitness comes into play as well.

Dominant win for Katie, as she bettered her opponent in every single stat (well every stat within the Wimbledon live scores anyway). 19 Winners to 6 UE a good ratio.
