Well done to Ms Christie and Ms Brogan - a very good Wimbledon for the latter, come what may (though I hope what may is more victories!)

Ms Blinkova's name is a gift to tabloid writers everywhere. (She blinked, and the set was ova ... etc)

According to a contributor on TennisForum today "Lucie Ahl on Radio Wimbledon. 'Don't blink, or this one will be ova.'"

The singles final will be between Sofya Zhuk (who easily dispatched Kuzmova) and Anna Blinkova who survived an epic quarter-final against Tornado Black yesterday (11-9 in the third if memory serves), before dealing with Vera Lapko today.

Zhuk had a tough encounter with a Dunblane lass in the 1st round, gave her the platform to have a fine tournament.

Ali's conqueror goes all the way, winning an entertaining encounter 7-5 6-4  One more match before Anna (+ Freya), boosted (or weighed down) by tweeted support from Nicola Sturgeon

Anna+Freya (who used to be in ABBA, iirc) are leading 1-0 in the first...

A topsy-turvy affair sees Anna+Freya finally go down 6-4, 7-5.

Lapko/Mihalikova (BLR/SVK) d. (WC) Brogan/Christie 6-4 7-5

Anna and Freya acquitted themselves very well, playing better than yesterday, but were always under pressure on serve. They did very well to save the first 8 break points and to mount a comeback from 0-4 in the second set, but the stronger pair won

So who knows how to type the first 'B' the wrong way round ???

Enjoyed watching that - thanks for flagging it up (and the red button was working this time).

Freya made me laugh - she's the doubles partner from hell (said affectionately) - the one who shouts 'yours' at every ball, even when it's only a yard away from her.

The girls did well - some good stuff - hope that, overall, they're pleased.
