Some pretty Stella combibations there for the Brits doubles teams to pit their whits against!
Katie has had a pretty decent first transition season on grass dumping out a top 150 player at of Wimbledon qualifying and knocking out some decent wins at both Roehampton and Wimbledon juniors despite having to manage an abdominal injury.
Obviously lots more to learn but even as things stand if she can add consistency to the weapons she already has she will be some player. She seems really well set up for success in terms of atttitude and support, her career development will be great to watch and although she was very close to spectacular success this week as many have stated it would be a double aged sword. You can't help bit be excited for her, her family and coaches.

They got there in the end after wobbling from 6-4 4*-1 to 4-5 30-40. General standard was not great for a grand slam QF, though Freya held the team together well in the closing stages. The semi is likely to be a level up if US Open finalists Lapko/Mihalikova come through - who are a much more established pair than Teichmann/Xu

(3) Galfi/Stollar (HUN) d. Lumsden/Neel (GBR/USA) 6-0 6-2 (WC) Brogan/Christie d. (6) Teichmann/Xu (SUI/CHN) 6-4 7-5

The singles final will be between Sofya Zhuk (who easily dispatched Kuzmova) and Anna Blinkova who survived an epic quarter-final against Tornado Black yesterday (11-9 in the third if memory serves), before dealing with Vera Lapko today.
As expected it is the Eastern European combination, and the match is scheduled 3rd on court 1 (so will probably clash with the Men's Doubles final unfortunately). The Czech pair are going for the grand slam this year, having already bagged the Australian and French titles - on both occasions they beat Lapko/Mihalikova en route to the title

Zhuk had a tough encounter with a Dunblane lass in the 1st round, gave her the platform to have a fine tournament.
