Its looking a very interesting competition with a number of excellent prospects likely to see a lot of each other over the next decade. Has Bellis just not decided to enter and completely committed to main tour?
Black obviously in a strong position regarding age and experience but youngest Russian who blew Brogan away looks likely to be too good to be playing Junior GS at 16. Watching their development is as interesting as watching the main tour!
Yes, although Katie is the highest seed (of 2) left in the draw that is of course only part of the picture with the younger ones just appearing on the radar on an apparently meteoric path and the older ones like Black (world #3 last year) having largely left junior tennis behind them; that said, Katie's own progress is pretty impressive and if she can keep landing those big serves (ideally in more often though!) and big groundies she has more than a decent chance of going all the way this week. Go, Katie :)
