Not much joy in the last 2 hours with Gabi losing 6-4 in the third and Eden also losing in 3 despite claiming the second set 6-0. Ema and Georgie lost easily while Holly has just lost a long first set tiebreak. Earlier Jodie had an impressive scoreline against the second seed, losing 7-6(6) 7-6(6)
Great win for Freya and good fight by Ali against a strong opponent, still playing at 1 set all

Unbelievably they kept play going on Ali's court until 9.37, well after other matches had been suspended and she won 6-4 5-7 7-6(4) against someone who has won a Grade A, beat Katie at the French Open and is top 500 WTA

Wow. So glad I didn't hang around for the third set. I'd have still been traveling....
But a brilliant day's tennis, absolutely loved it - well done to all the youngsters.
Emily Arbuthnott has won her match, versus the 7th seed !!! 6-4 7-5
Emily plays a really sporty tennis, with good timing and weight transfer, very nice.
Maia lost out 6-2 7-5 (really liked her Dutch coach, though - saying such sensible, good things to her the whole time - unlike some one could mention).
katie Swan comes through 6-4 6-3 - from the way the scores went, the first set was really tight and then second a lot easier.
I know what you mean, Tennislover - Freya is the real deal and so exciting to watch.
When I was looking up last night how many points each Brit winner would get, net, i was amazed to see how few junior matches Freya has played. (Or adult matches either really).
I know she's had a little injury recently but not previously, I don't think.
I don't know what her programme is - it's obviously deliberate, there must be a plan behind it.
(Mind you, TennisL, if you're a fan of Freya, you'll have to take Jodie under your wing too - very similar style of tennis, exciting stuff, not quite the same serene temperament as Freya, but all good!).

Thanks for pointer on Jodie. Will keep an eye on her as well. The more players like that, the better. Always like players who play bold tennis :). With them, it's always a matter of time.
