I confess. . . I hoped, but didn't really think he could do it. Rafa was not at his best but he has a habit of beating players when not at his best.

To say that this week has been a pleasant surprise would be the understatement of the century. Not only winning the tournament but some of best tennis of Andy's career.

Congratulations Andy

loved Andy's aggression, pace, attitude, focus and particularly his belief in himself.

Has there been some tennis going on today ? I Muzzed have missed it.

Not really. Many congrats to Andy beating Rafa in his own back yard. Awesome achievement.

Perhaps a little shout out for Jonas Bjorkman as well, who seems to have made an immediate impact.

Sublime. I didn't think I'd ever see Andy win a clay Masters.

Before Monday, he had never won a title on clay and had only ever beaten one top 10 player on the surface. Now he's quadrupled that tally and won two titles!

Sensational win, particularly as he managed to keep to a high level all the way through. Nadal played poorly by his own standards (last two points of the match e.g.) but a number of Nadal's errors were effectively forced by the unusually high standard of Murray's game. He needs to get married more often.
