RE: Will Katie Swan be junior no.1?

Congrats to Katie on her new CH and being official year end world #3 :D

Her dubs partner last week Andreescu CAN did win the Orange Bowl singles to be +8 this week and just 42.5 points behind her. Close!

That's quite an accomplishment - congratulations to her. And it brings three JEs for next year, two 50s and a 25K. Never hurt.

My understanding with the JEs is that people can use them for any ITF tournament they want within the parameters of the prize money.

I knew that I was speculating as to where she might use them.

I doubt she'll use them in the UK as she would get WC's and earlier in the year the better as if she's playing a full senior year I'd expect her to be top 300 at least by the years end.

Katie is JWR 2 in the latest rankings, behind Dalma Galfi, but edging ahead of Marketa Vondrousova, whose Traralgon G1 points from last year have dropped off.

I guess the answer to the thread title will be no, as she concentrates much more on seniors and most immediately her Australian Open final points will drop off next week.

But not bad

Keep an eye out for the two 2001's who are flying up the rankings:-

Potapova and Anisimova - both capable of taking than junior no.1 ranking this season
