Murray v Robredo

Andy has 3rd seeded Spaniard Tommy Roberdo in rd1 of Las Vegas. How do you see this match going ? Can one of the mods edit this post and do poll options

I went for Andy in 3. Robredo is solid but isn't going to overpower Andy - he doesn't really have any exceptional shots in his repertoir and instead relies on just being a good, solid all rounder. He's not been in great form and if Andy can serve well then there is a good chance he can get the win.

I know Robredo is from Barca - I wonder if he's one of the Spaniards that Andy has practiced with at the Sanchez-Casal Academy.

I've gone for Murray in three, though I hope he gets it in two. I think his habit of losing the first set, or nearly losing the first set will continue. I reckon that's what he needs to work on most as otherwise he's tiring himself out mentally and physically having to come back in the third set.

I found the thread!  Thanks Madeline!

Serious question to whoever currently organises this section:-

Why isn't it near the top of the pile ?  Las Vegas is!  As this thread is the hotish topic on the whole Andy Murray Forum, that seems a bit like shooting ourselves in the foot!  All sorts of 'sticky' topics seem to have precedence!

Believe me, Tim, I have itchy fingers to un-stick some of those topics, but it not my site . . .  I don't want to tread on toes. I have made it a sticky as well.

Be bold!  Un-stick them anyway!  *LOL*  Let their popularity speak for themselves!

BTW I've not seen a post from David.  Is he away at the moment?

Why does a topic get stuck?  I don't understand it.  I have wanted to respond on a topic but it is sticky?  I thought it was a glitch in the site, if not, what is it?

You shouldn't have any problem posting to a "sticky" topic, Doug, I think it is just to keep a thread on the top page so that it doesn't get buried. Useful for something which is needed regularly, but not necessarily posted to often (which automatically keeps it on the top page). The moderators do have the power to make a topic sticky or unstick it, and I have used it at times - like today when I made this topic a sticky but will unstick it after the match is over.

I am just a bit wary about unsticking topics which David or Peter have made sticky! It is their site after all.

i'm not very good at working out time differences, but rain has stopped play in LV apparently. i THINK murray is due on court when it stops, cant find the OOP on the vegas website.

It is often easier to get the OOP from the ATP website, Stagger. On the home page, under tournaments, where you can find the draws there is a link "OP" - here is todays http://www.atptennis.com/en/common/TrackIt.asp?file=/posting/2006/433/OP.pdf

Andy is due on at 3pm Las Vegas time, which is 11pm GMT.  This site is useful to work out time differences - http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/custom.html?sort=1

You can set up your personal world clock to include tournament venues!

According to that, 3pm Vegas time on Tuesday 28 February is 7am Wednesday 1 March, Taiwan time.

But if rain is delaying things. . .
