Whatever has been said about Paire, you have to credit Kyle for remaining focused and not being put off but his talented but temperamental opponent. To be able to come back after the rain break, maintain his concentration and finish the job shows tremendous maturity.
Overall, Kyle played a really solid match without too many errors and all you can do is beat what is in front of you, which is what he did. Another Challenger semi to look forward to, another CH ranking on the way and a step closer to the Top 100.
In order to make the MD at Wimbledon automatically, Kyle will need about 550 points. He currently has 385, with only 35 to come off before then. So far this week he has 40 points giving him a net 390, so he will need to find about another 160 points over the next 2 1/2 months.
His ranking will rise after this week to the low 130's, and possibly better of course with more points still to play for. You would have to think that for some of the lower rated Challengers, Kyle is close to being seeded which will help.
If he doesn't quite get there this year, no big deal, but there is definitely a chance. Game on.

Winning the title here would be a strong start! He is due to take next week off before playing clay court challenger events. At the moment he would be seeded for both Mersin and Vercelli and would be a top 4 seed at the latter.

If he turns up at either Aix en Provence or Bordeaux at the start of May, my friend Bob in France might just make an appearance.
Kyle will be in the Wimbledon main draw regardless but beating guys like Paire is so exciting. It suggests with a decent draw he may make some progress, although Wimbledon being a British player will always be special, regardless of the outcome here the rest of April and May on clay could make great watching. Superb win today for all the reasons mentioned here's to a busy weekend.
The MD direct entry list for Wimbledon comes out in May. I can never remember quite how far in advance it is for Slams, but it will be second half of May anyway.
So Kyle has less points to come off ( the 8 Nottingham Challenger points come off later ), but also quite a bit less time to accumulate points.
As Oakland says, Kyle will be in regardless, but it would be great to get in on his ranking, and free up a WC.

Slam entry lists are based on the rankings 6 weeks prior to the start of the Slam (same as ATP tournaments) so Monday 18th May.
