RE: Weeks 12-13 - ATP Masters 1000 - Miami, USA (Andy)

Not as straightforward as perhaps Mr Murray wanted, but that was a great match to watch.

As a certain Scottish pop duo once said

Well he has won 500 matches and he will win 500 more .................

Odd having the quarter-finals for a Masters on a Wednesday. Has Miami always done it this way?

QFs are split between Wednesday and Thursday. I think it's been like this for a while.

Looked like he did his shoulder. Took 15-25 mph off of his serves when he was broken and didn't hit a straight forehand in Thiem's service game. Hasn't called a trainer at the changeover; hope he isn't being an idiot about it.

It was a shame he tweaked his shoulder in the first set, he was hitting his first serves at 95mph compared to his normal 120-130 odd. He was having trouble with the groundstrokes too, and it cost him the set. It was not a brilliant performance but it was good enough. I rather like Thiem's game, he goes on my list of young 'uns to watch.
