RE: Weeks 10-11 - ATP Masters 1000 - Indian Wells, CA, USA (Hard)

So Raonic beats Nadal to add confusion to the rankings. If I am right, Andy will go up to Nš3 if he can beat Nole tomorrow in the SF, which would also make sure Raonic can't overtake him. But if Andy loses, Raonic can go to Nš3 if he wins the title.

Of course, if I am wrong, I can surely rely on the stats gurus to put me right. Feel free to do so.

Right re Andy, Bob, and very nearly right overall. Just Raonic cannot overtake Nadal, just get very close.

1) If Andy just wins his SF and Raonic wins the title : AM 5935, RN 5810, MR 5800.

2) If Andy loses his SF and Raonic wins the title : RN 5810, MR 5800, AM 5695

Interesting isn't it, I feel in the longer term it is Rafa that may make way for someone else in the top 4 rather than Andy. He seems to be carrying the most wear and tear. That is making the assumption that Andy can put a performance together at RG and Rafa doesn't win it.

Should probably mention Nishikori in case Kei's feeling left out, having looked Andy's ranking adversary at the start of the tournament.

He is 5th, now on 5460 points, and will remain 5th ahead of Raonic if Raonic doesn't win the title, and that remains the most likely scenario.

Ferrer, Wawrinka and Berdych are having their own private squabble over 7th to 9th, all back in the 4500s.

1-5. Novak needn't worry too much about holding his own serve anymore!

Murray gets broken again, loses the first 2-6. Told you Novak needn't worry!

That's one of the worst sets of tennis Murray has ever played in a big match. Offered absolutely nothing.

Yes, there's nothing much on show other than typical defense between these two, except Djokovic doing everything else better. His serve has been very poor and the offensive side equally so.

What is going on with Mr Murray? This just is not pretty.

This level of play from Andy has been pretty common for a long time.
