What a fashion finish for Robin---an ace to close out the match

Oh dear! just come back after clearing away after dinner and what do I find! Hardly surprising, though.

Peter, I just caught your request for a "plug" on the Beeb and have done it.

6-1 Soderling

That could have gone better.

OK Andy, you have him confused now, and just a little bit cocky... go for it.

Murray has been totally outclassed in 20 minutes, Soderling is playing out of his skin. Murray has had chances at 30-30 on two service games but Soderling has produced the goods each time, his forehand and serve are a powerful combination. Murray needs to bring Soderling to the net more, that's where the Swede is weak

Thankfully it is only the first set although it could be the match soon.

Oh well, at least the 2nd set can't be any worse for Andy (surely), and Murray has shown in the past that he can come back against Soderling in a Q/F from a set down... COME ON MURRAY!

Remind me - what was the first set score in San Jose? Andy pulled through to win that one.

30-0: Murray hits a 2nd serve, short rally ends with Soderling being drawn into going wide with a backhand

Andy won 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 I think

40-0: Big 1st serve

40-15: Soderling strikes a backhand winner

Game Murray: Forehand winner off a short ball

Soderling serving

15-0: Forehand winner into open space on 2nd shot
