Apologies if this has already been mentioned but I've only just really got back from a meeting and joined this thread late, but does this mean Andy overtakes Tim in the rankings? I'm sure I heard he had to better Tim's performance to do so.
Oh my god! I can't believe he won! It sounded like a bit of a scrappy match. Oh well, another ugly match won! But I wish he would do better on his serve.
I never thought that Andy would be British number 1 this early... I'm really glad that Murray did win, because 5 live have been going on for ages about how Murray would be British no.1 if he won.
JINGS, that fair had my hear a flutter, it's awfull following Andy like this, so little idea of how the game ebb's and flows, hope we get some TV coverage sometime soon, this could finish me off.
Still it's win, well done again Andy..no real idea how hard fought, but I suspect De Voest was not the walkover we suspected ( hoped )

Andy will now be Brit no 1, great stuff. Yet another amazing achievement for him - I know he publically says that it doesn't matter but I suspect that it actually will mean a lot.
Andy struggled in sets 2 and 3 as De Voest suddenly started serving so much better
I don't think Andy cares what his UK Ranking is. It's the top 10 Entry Ranking he is after.
Tims right...Andy keeps repeating the same line...he would rather be No 10 in the world and No 20 in the UK than No 1 in the UK and 50 in the world !!!
If you have any questions on the match, ask them now ! Murray's serve percentage was actually pretty good in the end - 70% is pretty world class. It really helped in that final set !
1. Is Rik a typical serve / volleyer ?
2. Andy's serve was very good..was he mixing it up ?

True, but surely overtaking both Tim and greg, guys he's looked up to for at least a decade will really mean quite a bit to him.
What a whirlwind couple of weeks it's been for him !!
How many times can Andy pull out these victories late in the first set?
It's amazing to think that we used to say Andy would win in strait sets and struggle with long matches. Now it seem like Andy is at his best after two and a half hours of tennis.
It seems like Andy has lost the ability to win a strait forward match. That is probably because there is a lot of depth in mens tennis and there aren't many mugs entering the tournaments Andy is now playing in.

Thanks for the commentary - livescore can only tell you so much and stats don't really tell the whole story.
Did Andy look really lethargic today or was it just one of those days where the other guy played a blinder? Do you reckon he has any chance of beating Soderling after such a long match or did he look too tired at the end of it?
