Alex defeats the 2014 US Open junior runner-up from a set down and match points down in the 3rd - unusually for a GB Futures event, he has made the SFs without beating a fellow-Brit and won't play a Brit in the semis either:

PS sherbert: what's a player zone account? And why would it stop people signing up ? Is it difficult to get? Does it cost? (sorry for all the questions !)
That's fine A player zone account is the ATP version of the ITP one. You have to email a woman who gives you a username to pay and join. It does cost around £200. It then allows you to enter ATP tournaments. Before the change - you didn't have to have this account to be able to play quallies in a challenger. You could just go on the day.
Gutted for Smethy, but at least he got the win last week. It was never going to be easy defending all those points, just a matter of picking up enough so that during the 2nd half of the year he can really attack those rankings again.
Great result for Wardy, and hopefully he can end Roy's run of victories.
