Very, very good win against somebody who's often a sticking point. This final is genuinely a free one for me, just something for fun; the most important thing is to see Murray back feeling physically solid and his excellent performances. I also have to comment on his interviews recently, which have been getting a lot of praise and he certainly seems much more relaxed on-court. All good signs.
I've been glued to the big screen (usually have to watch livestreams) - what a match! Berdy seemed to be on top nearly all the first set, but from then on Andy really took charge. I'm very, very happy now! Not sure who I want in the final but I'll take whatever comes, even reaching the final is a great result after all his tribulations.
Super to see, retained aggresion ( and great and correct to hear him talking about getting that first punch in ) and maybe a bit more variety. Whoever doubted it would be thus ? - err, me sir.
Liking that RLA certainly seems quicker this year. I think Andy has lost out a bit over the years with the general slowing down of courts, he has a good record on fastish hard courts, I think largely because of innate quick reactions and sheer talent.
Few issues early in the first set with his serve, and then looked in great form.
Back into the top 4.
He won a GS in his 4th final so can he win the AO in his 4th AO final??

Fifth final actually - USO 2008, AO 2010, AO 2011, Wimbledon 2012.
Yes, I can't count so ignore the comment we don't want a repeat after all!
Back to the match, what impressed me most was his reaction to losing the first set. After having chances at 5-5 and during the tiebreak the Murray of old would have had a rant, sulked and his performance may well have been down for a few games. Now he just changed gear and blew Berdych away in the 2nd set.
So Andy moves his Slam SF record into the positive, 8-7.
Will Andy for the first time play a final not against Roger or Novak, and in this his 4th Aussie Open final can he make his record here 1-3 and overall Slam final record 3-5 ?
On current evidence, unexpectedy, I see winning as a real possibility.
Indeed, Andy winning is a real possibility against either opponent. I would suggest that many, many tennis fans would like to see Murray take an AO title as many consider him one of the best players to never have won the crown.
