However winning this meant another £700 which i wouldn't imagine you'd retire from without reason. Hopefully it was just a niggle and Dan is planning to enter Manchester Qualifying and didn't want to make it worse.
Just a reminder that this means that Joe will get a wildcard to the Wimbly wildcard play-offs (which I doubt he'd need as he would get a place anyway, or maybe even a direct Wimbly quali wildcard, but just in case . . .).
If he doesn't need it, Dan gets it. Unless - of course - Dan would get one anyway (which he presumably must, or - again - not need to because he has a Wimbly quali wildcard direct).
If neither Dan nor Joe need it, the wildcard is free up and allocated as seen fit.
In NOrth Oxford, the two ranked players, Alexis Canter and Scott Duncan, were knocked out in the early rounds.
In the semis:
Jonathan Gray plays Vincent Gillespie
Tiran Sanghera plays Ravi Patel
PS A special mention for Tiran Sanghera who, I've just seen, is only 16 with no track record in juniors whatsoever (as far as I can see), having only played a few adult matches, and has done better than Alexis Canter and Ewan Moore (6-9 months his senior). Well done, Tiran, and good tennis !
