Strong line-up this week (is this one of the 'rich' tour events?)

Dan Cox
Marcus Willis
Josh Ward-Hibbert
Andy Bettles
Richard Bloomfield

etc.

Some (surprisingly?) tight scores but all the main names come through (Bloomers beating Andy Bettles). Real worry though seeing that Evan Hoyt retired - SO hope it's a gastro or a twisted ankle or anything other than the awful stuff he's been going through all last year:

Simon Dickson def. Mark Whitehouse [5/1096] 6-2 4-6 6-2
Marcus Willis [2/364] def . Luke Oakley 7-6(6) 7-6(3)
Dan Cox [1/297] def. Chris Anguelov 6-1 6-0
Joshua Ward-Hibbert [3/591] def. David Porter 6-4 7-5
Isaac Stoute def. Evan Hoyt 5-7 2-3 Retired
Marshall Tutu [6/1148] def. Jamie Praditngam 6-3 6-3
Adam Thornton-Brown [8/1396] def. Piers Farhang 6-7(5) 7-5 6-1
Richard Bloomfield def. Andrew Bettles [4/1013] 6-4 5-7 6-2

Evan went over on his ankle.  Seriousness of the injury is not yet known.

Oh dear, I'm feeling rather prophetic now!

Do hope he's OK but still can't help feeling that's better than a recurrence of the long-term injury . ..

Marcus plays Dan C in the final.

Dan C came past JWH

Marcus beat ATB and Simon Dickson(by retirement)

I've no idea who Simon Dickson is, but some impressive scalps in Joe Woolley, Mark Whitehouse and Richard Bloomfield on the way

Edit - having looked him up, I should have known who he was just didn't realise he was one of the older players that hadn't played regularly on the circuit for over 10 yrs

Dan Cox is a set and a break up.

I saw a tweet from Marcus earlier this week suggesting he had lost a load of weight.

marcus sent me a text saying that the young lad played in the SF had potential and was a tough match hoping Marcus can win today & get off to a good start .

The £1500 Prize money would be very useful

But I thought Marcus won the semi 4-1 retirement ? Did he see enough of Dickson to still think he was a really good prospect ? Or did he mean his Quarter-final ? Which had a tight score, against Adam TB (although I imagine Marcus knows Adam already - he's been around a bit and does play pretty well, I like his game too).

Guess there's even more chance then that A1 meant the quarters (although I'm still surprised that Marcus didn't know Adam before - although maybe he did, but was just mentioning that he plays well anyway).

I'd have though more likely he meant young Luke Oakley who took him to 2 tie-breaks in one of the early rounds.
