There seem to be generally many less ranked players at British Tour events this year. Related to prize money cuts ?
Judging from CD's post in the general section, they are all over playing league tennis in France. I counted 9 (I think) ranked players this week alone from the men. Admittedly one or two have retired from the tour but still hold a ranking.
Jathan Malik narrowly beat Josh Sapwell in the top-half semi. (Sapwell''s first proper tournament for about 6 months - he did well - do so hope his arm holds out . . . )
Adam Skalsky defeated Kyle Fellows in the other semi.
In Essex, with Rob Carter getting knocked out in round one, and Oli Hudson losing out in the semis, it's all a bit skinny for the seeds, leaving us with 'unknown' names:
Final:
Oskar Wynne (Q) (tennis coach down at Exeter, I think) v Julien Belair (Q) (from Canada, I believe)
There's a mega big turnout at Felixstowe this week - guess it's the official start of the grass season
Dan Evans is top seed, Josh WH second, also Joe Salisbury, James Marsalek, Bloomers, as well as Adam TB, Skalsky, Hudson as ATP ranked players, and a couple of very good juniors (eg. Cannell)
