Well done, Katie, that's a good win even if as David indicated maybe not currently a huge surprise.

Welcome TennisBrits, good first post ;)

Maia got her revenge in three sets! Both our girls have tough matches tomorrow against their American opponents. I'm more optimistic about Katie's chances, seeing as her opponent hasn't done much lately.

Well done, Maia. I see that she and her partner have given a walkover to their opponents in their doubles R2 so hope that Maia is OK. All the other British girls lost in R1 of the doubles.

Meantime in the singles Bellis bear Aiava 7-6(7) 6-0 so age and experience won out ! Just wasn't to be Aiava's Destanee this week ( OK, I won't be the first or the last to go there ! )

According to Colette Lewis (@zootennis) on twitter, Katie won 6-2, 6-3.

Maia should have just started, as she followed CiCi in the oop - who has just won according to Colette. Raveena won the Regional G1 last event, hammering Michaela Gordon en route, so will be a tough ask for Maia. The US Open semifinalist awaits the winner.

QF

(4) Fanni Stollar (HUN) v Katie Swan
Maia Lumsden or (9) Raveena Kingsley (USA) v (WC) Caroline Dolehide (USA)

The Bellis tweet must have been delayed or Maia moved court. Either way Colette has tweeted a 7-5 6-2 win for Raveena

Shame . Yes, I tried to watch the stream, but neither the Bellis match or Maia's were on what was labelled Court 1.

Another good week for Katie. Stollar is a tough player. It probably all hinged on that first set.
