Sorry i didn't know where to post this so i decided here would be best:
Andy went onto court with very high spirits after just beating number 1 seed, home favourite and No. 3 in the world, Andy Roddick in straight sets. Hewitt though would be a completly different test for the teenager. Hewitt is much better on the defence and makes you play that one shot extra.
Andy started well capatilising on poor Hewit serving percentages and got two early break points in the first game of the match on Hewitt's serve. Hewitt though survived and went on to break Murray the next game with Murray serving very badly and hitting chances into the net on countless occasions. It looked like any chance Andy had, he would have needed to start well and that didn't happen scoreboard wise but he got back into the match breaking Hewitt back. Murray looked on the offensive but got caught napping when Hewitt broke for a second time to go ahead. Andy wasn't able to get the break back although he had a couple of chances and Hewitt went onto take the set 6-3.
Into the second and Andy came out roaring and got the best possible start breaking Hewitt and holding his own serve to go 2-0 up. In Hewitt's second service game Andy really made the Aussie work for every point and as a result Hewitt eventually started going for too much and hitting unforced errors. At 30-30 Murray hit a delightful backhand lob into the corner to set up break point which he took with Hewitt netting. Murray had troubles on his second service game though but came through to go 4-0. He eventually won the set 6-1 with breaking Hewitt to take the set and serve first in the second. Hewitt this set had served very badly with his figures in the high 30s for first serves in and Murray took advantage of that with putting Hewitt on the back foot neally every time he got a second serve and sometimes coming up with unstoppable return winners.
It was important for Andy to come out and take his first service game which he did easily mixing coming into the net with defence and then the change of pace winners which scare everyone when done right. Hewitt wanted the same from his first service game but Murray's resistance and eventually when getting into the ralley coming up with big shots annoyed Hewitt. Murray broke to go 2-0 up in the third. What was important for Murray was to consolidate the break but Hewitt with nothing really to lose a break down started coming up with huge returns right into the corners, snapping up the Murray second serve. Murray though was not disheartened and held his serve with consturcted the points excellent when he got into the rallies as he had all day. Murray was bringing Hewitt into the net sometimes and then playing cross court or down the line winners neally everytime with Hewitt's percentages of winning points when at the net exspected to be very low. Murray broke Hewitt in a fantastic game with high class tennis from both players only to be broken straight back again for the second time this set. Muray has holding his serve comfortably but Hewitt had trouble and often had to save break points. At 4-5 with Hewitt serving, when both players walked onto the court after the break there was a huge amount of noise willing on Murray as the crowd all day had been completly for Murray. Murray was spurred on by this even though playing very defensive and hardly ever going for winners and letting Hewitt make the mistakes which he did which brought it to 0-30. Hewitt though served two Aces which brought Murray back to Earth. In a long ralley Murray brought Hewittt to the net before playing the ball gently down the line to set up a Championship Point. This though didn't last long with Hewitt coming up with the goods on his serve when he most needed it and went on to win the game followed by a hugh roar of 'Come On' by Lleyton. The Aussie knew he was in a game and was very releaved just to hold serve. Murray won his service game to love to secure atleast a tiebreak but many fans were thinking during the 12th game of the set he wouldn't need it as he stormed to 0-30 again only to be brought back to 30-30. In another long ralley, Murray's change of pace with a backhand winner made the atmosphere amazing. Hewitt once again though served a slice ace out wide to save Championship Point No.2.
Into the tie-break and after a long ralley Murray finally played a shot to good for Hewitt to return to go 1-0 up. Murray fans knew though with Hewitt's returning ability and power Murray needed to break Hewitt atleast once as it was likely Hewitt would do the same to Murray but it was even better for Murray, he got two breaks to lead 3-0. Hewitt played a scorcher of a return right into the corner to go 1-3 behind but Murray served a good serve when most needed to move 4-1 ahead. Hewitt brought the attack to Murray and went to 2-4 at the change of ends. On his second service point it was a second serve but Murray played very cautiously as he had done at spells during the match and just slice the ball back to Hewitt who tried to boss the ralley but couldn't get through Murray before Murray found a gap hit the ball down the line to go 5-2 ahead. Andy lost his first service point but knew if he could hold his second he would have 3 more Championship Points which he did and a hugh roar from him and the crowd showed how much it meant to him. Again on the Aussie's serve he was cautious and again hoped for a mistake or a gap to open and it did. Hewitt came up to the short ball looking for the winner only to his it into the net to ive the 18 year old Scot his first ATP Title of his young and hopefully long and successful Career.
In the Presentation he was quick to congrualate Lleyton who returned the complaments. Straight after the match he went up to his girlfriend Kim Sears and gave her a kiss. She had been his biggest fan throughout the match and tournament and Andy showed how much he appreciated it.
Murray now moves onto Memphis where he plays Rainer Schuettler of Germany with a possible match up aginst second seed Nicolas Keifar in Round 2.
