RE: Week 44 - ATP Masters 1000 - Paris, France (Hard)

I think it's also worth taking account that Djokovic has played less tournaments than anybody, but still playing them so well that he's top in the ranking by a large margin.

.... although Fed would overtake him after this week if Fed takes the title and Novak doesn't make the final.

Novak was saying he wasn't that bothered about finishing the year in the number one spot, because as a new dad he felt number one anyway. Awww.

Could do with Berdych losing today. Anderson took the 1st set but Berdy has just fought back and won the 2nd.

Come on Mr Anderson. Follow the white rabbit.

If Nole wasn't desperate to keep hold of the No1 spot ( forget what he said in the press ) I could see an upset here, but with that on the line, difficult to predict the upset.

Fed has been beaten by Raonic so relax, Novak. Just you get back to your kid and then prepare for the WTF :)

Time for Andy to show what a great guy he is be helping a poor lost child to be reunited with his father.

Relax! Murray is good indoors. No wind to mess up that dodgy service action.

He's in a win/win position here. A loss can be attributed to tiredness. Win and he takes all the plaudits lavished on him.

Strange start to the match with Andy outdoing Rafa in the "pulling at the knickers" lark. Off he went at the first changeover for an urgent toilet break, and is playing a bit better since. Still on serve at *2-3.

Murray not even getting close in Djokovic's games - only got to 30 once and in that game he was already 40-15 down.

In comparison Djokovic has had break points in two of Murray's games already and got to 30 in the other two.

Feels like a matter of time before Novak breaks. If Murray can just cling on for a tie-break though...

Andy desperately needs to get more first serves in.

Well that was a poor time for a double fault.

Djokovic breaks to take the set 7-5. Rather predictable that. Mostly average from Murray today, with the odd spectacular shot.

Serve has been so-so but just too many errors. Djokovic not doing much more than soak up the pressure and wait for the error and to be fair to him, he hasn't needed to go for much more.

Oh dear. First set to Djoko, 7-5. I don't think Andy has ever beaten Djokovic when he lost the first set. Come on, Andy, break the tradition!
