David regularly played singles at Memphis but had a so-so record. He partnered Joe in doubles throughout his college career and they were a particularly successful team, far out shining his singles record. I suspect it's much easier for them, as an established team, to breeze through futures dubs draws than it is to make the same inroads in singles.

And Joe presumably had a better track record in singles than O'Hare?
That said, net net, David has just beaten Rob Carter (who's barely played, it seems to me, recently) 6-4 6-3 so will face Jonny tomorrow.
Farris has dug deep and recovered the second set break. Now 5-4 on serve. Rice a break up. Grant too.
Always thought the bottom quarter would be an open section. So with Dave R out and Ash withdrawing, we now have Jack C, ATB, Joe S and Andy B/Mark W with a great shot at a semi final spot and 8 points.
