I think he just "got out of the wrong side of the bed" this morning. His attitude was not good at the start - chuntering away to himself, being easily distracted by anything and everything. But full marks to him for pulling himself together midway through the second set. It was still a scrap, and my heart was in my mouth as he tried to serve it out and his first serve went AWOL again - but he got the job done by sheer grit and determination.
Next, almost certainly, Duracell Dave. Good luck Andy, and hopefully a better start.
Good to get the win, and at least Andy has now added 90 points to his race total. Would have been the worst scenario if he had played 3 matches, ending with a long match against Anderson, and achieved nothing in particular but adding fatigue going into Paris.
Will be great if my slight doubts about Andy finally deciding to play Valencia proved very wrong. I would make Duracell Dave a slight favourite to win this time in their potential SF meeeting , but it would be sooo good if Andy could get to the final and even better win that final agianst what would be a non seeded opponent.
Oh, dear Heaven! Have you seen Andy's Paris draw? Djokovic in the quarters AGAIN! And probably, if he survived that, Ferrer in the semi AGAIN!
I've always thought the "fixed draw conspiracy" was rubbish, but I'm beginning to doubt. (Not really, but coincidences do seem to happen more often than you expect)

It most likely puts an end to Raonic and to Dimitrov, so if Nadal does withdraw, I'd say that this likely cements Andy's place in the WTF?
