After a spell on Ecuadorean clay Anna Brogan has moved north to Canadian hard courts. However if she hoped for a gentle opener to ease the transition she will be disappointed. Her name came out the draw against the top seed, who would also have been one of the top seeds in Ecuador (JWR 6 / WTA 380)

Anna pushed her the top seed for a set , but ended with defeats in singles and doubles
