Big victory in the doubles for college teammates Joe Salisbury and David O'hare over Marcus and Lewis : 6-3 7-6(4)

So the second SF is:

I suspect Dan C has a niggle, hence why he dropped out of the doubles and struggled against Jack, before losing today.

It should really be a Marcus v Brydan semi with Brydan favourite to make the final in the top half.

George v Josh should be close, there was very little to separate the two at Didsbury. Time for Bambo so show some form, Freddie will be awkward to beat though.

This is directly on my way route home from work each day, but having left promptly for Johnstone's Paint Trophy football yesterday and then staying later then usual for a post-work social tonight I seem to have pretty much missed out.  Hopefully they'll still be playing around 6 tomorrow evening but pretty unlikely I guess.  I went once about 3 or 4 years ago and remember Lisa reaching the quarters of the women's event as an unranked qualifier.  Also spent a bit of time with the founder of this message board and now internationally renowned tennis journalist, the infamous Sheddie!

Luke and Freddie on serve 4-3

BUT - Josh WH has broken Brydan twice already and leads 3*-0 which is unexpected/bizarre (and very pleasing for JWH fans)

Very tight first set but Luke manages to win the TB against Freddie: 7-4

Brydan has now woken up, which was pretty much to be expected, and it's back to 4-4

freddie is beginning to be seriously annoying . . . (and especially to Bob !):

QF: (7) Luke Bambridge WR 517 lost to Frederik Nielsen (DEN) WR 662 (CH 190 in 2011) 6-7(4) 6-2 6-3

JWH and Brydan 5-5 in the second set

Based on recent results, i'm not surprised that Luke lost that match - he's not in the greatest of form at the moment.

JWH into a second set tie breaker

paulisi, er-um?  smile

Your post yesterday (yesterday!) - see page before - says:

"Bambo should win and get into the top 500."

NB Not saying it was an unreasonable prediction, just . . .

and JWH loses the second set tb and one has to think that Brydan will be the favourite to win the third pretty easily :(

CD - that was for round 2. Bambo won that.

My last prediction was "Time for Bambo so show some form, Freddie will be awkward to beat though."

Unfortunately, Luke won't be in the top 500 either, not yet anyway.
