i think he will win, because he's got more power in his shots as well as mixing his pace up. however when watching him in thailand, he's quick to retrieve balls back, i don't think he will be able to sustain the pace that murray's got. Wang beat blake due to jame's errors. don't understab blake, its not as if he played 2 gruelling five set matches in DC!! Though did Wang came through qualifying?
Blake really impressed me when I saw him play last year and this year he loses to Wang. The same Wang who lost 6-1 7-6 to Michal Przysiezny (wr-393) a couple of weeks ago.
That is a stroke of luck for Andy, most of Wang's points have come from challenger tournaments. Coincidently his best result at this level was a quarter final at Bankok, I don't know if Andy saw him play I think he was mostly trying to get over jetlag.
btw does anyone know if eurosport are covering this tournament? I have seen a few adverts for it but they seem to be concentrating on the WTA in Antwerp.
I have watched Wang representing Taipei in Davis Cup against Pakistan last week.Wang was so impressive compared to his unheralded opponent, with some great passing shots. However, Wang may hold some advantage as Murray didn't really get any idea of his opponent.According to the match i watched, Wang just played some simple groundstrokes and allowed his opponent to attack the net so he can striked passing shots. What need to mention is that his opponent's didn't seem to have known any skills when attacking the net.So if Murray can keep Wang at the baseline and attack the net with quality set-up,Murray is definitely able to keep Wang at a low position

According to San Jose Web site Eurosport are only covering the semis and final ?
Murray has played Wang once before, at the Surbiton Challenger in 2004 where Andy retired at 2-3 in the first set.
I think I'm right in saying that Murray only has a 0-2 losing record against one player (Dave Sherwood in 2002 and 2004), so hopefully Wang will have his work cut out in getting the better of Andy for a second time.
And from all we've heard about Andy, I'm sure he was watching the Blake match last night so he will be well aware of Wang's strengths and weaknesses.
I think he'll win in straight sets again, although a lot closer than Monday.

Welcome to the board GC77.....I agree...closer than the Fish but should still do it in 2 !
The bottom quarter was the place to be !! Both seeds replace by lucky losers, + 2 qualifiers and a WC. Highest ranked player in the bottom quater is 74.
Damn right, Andy has been consistantly put in tough sections of the draw this year! I can't see Wang hurting Murray much, looking at Wang's results, it should be a straight sets win. I can see it being more 64 64 though. God knows what happened to blake, he hit so many UEs it was insane! Pehaps this is just going to be Andy's tourney :)
Welcome 'Hi777'.I made your point elsewhere in another thread about Andys bad luck at the moment but Andy will just dig in ! 64 64 sounds good to me then again 76 76 will do !
