Back with a bang. During the coverage of Lucic-Halep match on Eurosport the other day Jo Durie did mention that Katy was keen to get back on court after a few injury niggles, but WOW!
Wow!!! Fantastic result Miss Dunne. She seems to have so much self-belief at the moment - could it be from working with Miss Durie, some one who genuinely has been there, done it?
What a win for Katy. I notice Arvidsson has now lost 6 matches in a row so is clearly way off her best but Katy has been out for over a month herself and to then come back and beat a former top 30 player (even an out of form one) that convincingly is amazing

The thing with Fran is that she has previously been close to the top 500 ( WR 518 over 2 years ago, at age 18 ), so while it is nice to be back playing, I am sure she sees herself as well capable of getting into the top 500 for starters, and it would be nice to see a real step up in form.
Katy: "I can definitely say I played pretty decent just then! I'll take that after 5 weeks!! Looking forward to tomo!! Ice bath in the sea later ;)"
Katy will play Klaartje Liebens in R2 - the Belgian she beat in straight sets in a final in Egypt late last year but lost in straight sets to in Gloucester in April.
Natasha lost 3 & 2 to Lim
Fran is a breadstick up but a break down against Jodie 6-1 1-2*
Naomi has just lost the 1st set to de Vroome (0/5 on bps to de Vroome's 1/5) - 4-6
Harriet was an early break up v Golubic but has since lost 4 of the last 5 games 3-4*
Tara has lost the 1st set to Paolini 3-6

Naomi lost 4 & 2 to de Vroome, though will of course be back on the WTA rankings on Monday week, courtesy of her R1 point
Having won the first 2 games of the match, Harriet only won 2 more, going out 3 & 1 to Golubic
Manisha has lost the 1st set 6-1 to Dodin
The matches we were vaguely hopeful for are not really going our way, are they Tara's loss the biggest shocker, of course, but she doesn't seem to be in a good place at the moment, sadly.
Jodie is about to serve for the match against Fran.
