Still, an excellent couple of weeks for Katie S and good experience at the US Open.

She can have 3 more goes at US Open juniors if she wants, though who knows how she will be positioned by 2017 :)

That was tough. A very well fought tie break.

Frustratingly Maia and partner (Fanni Stollar, who despite being highly ranked is only here for doubles, presumably having forgotten to enter on time) were leading 6-3 5*-2 only to see their double break evaporate to 5-5

A chance to avenge Izzy and partner's narrow loss. Katie and Freya should be on within an hour

Brilliant!! I assumed they'd lost after it started going pear shaped. So pleased.

Yes. I agree with Julia. I thought that the 8th seeds were going to overpower them.

Now to look forward to Katie and Freya's match

The girls have fought back from an early break down to lead 6-5* in the first set.

And took it 7-6(8), 6-4. Well done to them - impressive win!

Nice to get some non Scots into a QF :)

Very good and Katie in particular must be moving up these rankings yet more.

Hopefully at least one of our pairs is far from finished yet.

there's a photo 8 hours ago of Izzy on crutches - supposedly she's sprained her ankle - hope it's nothing major

Keep an eye on the Shrewsbury entry list, to see how serious Izzy's injury is.

Will be interesting to see where Katie S ends up in the new rankings (top 40?)
