Boys & Girls: US Open, hard - Grade A (Week 36)

Katie Boulter, Isabelle Wallace and Gabi Taylor are in the main draw on ranking, whilst Katie Swan has earned a Special Exempt for her efforts in Quebec. The main draw, with seeds who mostly did not play in the Canadian G1, begins on Sunday.

Qualifying has begun today, with scores on the US Open website. Freya Christie had a comfortable win, but Emily Arbuthnott lost to one of the US players in last week's Maureen Connolly Trophy side. Maia Lumsden is on court in a rematch with another Trophy player, Ellie Halbauer, who beat her in 3 sets last time. Maia looks well placed to avenge that loss at 6-3 2-0

Alex Sendegeya is the only Brit in the boys qualifying event, and he has been drawn against a player, who like him could have gained a Special Exempt with victory in Canada yesterday.

Halbauer got one break back, saved matchpoints at 3-5 and had breakpoints for 5-5 before Maia came through 6-3 6-4
