Another totally baffling Sloane Stephens performance, plucked from nowhere.....against a clearly inferior opponent. I do find the similarities between Sloane and Laura uncanny at times.....so much material to work with, so many plaudits from people who know what real talent looks like......I heard the match described on radio and the BBC commentators were all but scratching their heads over the airwaves

Yes, college. In her presser, Bellis explained that she would not be turning pro because, should there be some unforeseen calamity in her development, she might need to go the college route, and she would be ineligible for a scholarship and entry in NCAA competitions if she had pro status.

It's a semantic technicality really, because supposedly amateur NCAA athletes in football, basketball, athletics and other American collegiate sports regularly get stipends and other non-monetary 'incentives' and sponsorships - often to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars and more throughout their collegiate careers.

Should be just clarified, that Bellis is perfectly entitled to take her prize money and still go to college.

She just can't take her prize money and then get a tennis scholarship to go to college.

Bizarre and distressing scenes in the first women's SF with Peng Shuai cramping full body & collapsing.

Peng unable to continue leaves the court in a wheelchair in great physical distress.

What the hell were the doctors doing letting her come back out after she couldn't move?
