Fortunately it seems Andy doesn't either smile

I don't really believe in jinxing either - but I do believe in "Commentators' Blight". It happens too often. "Player X is playing really well, totally in command of this match, in the next round he will meet. . ." Cue complete meltdown by player X.

I usually like Andy's chances in Cincinnati with the generally faster courts and more ready than he tends to be for Canada.

Rather suits Isner though, and he did reach the final here last year.

Andy vs Isner is second on Grandstand court today. Benneteau vs Janowicz is due to kick proceedings off there at 11am, i.e. 4 pm BST.

Murray or Isner play Federer or Monfils in the QF.

The match before Andy (Benneteau beating Janowicz lol) has finished so Andy should start very soon.

Big turn around in the other match. Stan lost the 1st set 6-3 to Cilic but then stormed back to only lose 1 more game winning 0&1 in the 2nd and 3rd sets

Yep. I bet it is not often that Andy has played an entire set with only 2 UEs and still lost it.

Andy breaks in the first game of the 2nd set - now all he has to do is hold his own serve 5 times (gulp)

Welcome to the wonderful world of tennis Karlovic and Isner style. Entirely possible that both of them can go an entire match barely able to return a ball or construct meaningful rallies on their opponent's serve. It's all about ace after ace, 2 punch after 2 punch, making it to the tiebreak where anything can happen.......I know its not their fault, that it takes all shapes and sizes, and both are very nice guys, but it's not watchable tennis in my eyes. The return stats and all non serve stats of both players are at the bottom of the rankings year in year out, but it doesnt matter.

Rant over! Come on Andy
