RE: Week 32 - ATP Masters 1000 - Toronto, Canada - Hard

Back from clearing the dishes and I see nobody has said that Andy lost the first set on a close tiebreak Tsonga is serving very well.

Wow. That's some turnaround. When I left my tennis club, Andy was *4-4 15-40 and I feared the worst.

I'm surprised Tsonga can even move! His forehand has been very well fed tonight!

You don't deserve a match you win it or you don't. Whatever the outcome Andy is looking a top 10 rather than top 5 contender at the moment.

It looks like Andy neither deserves nor is going to win, so there's no need for a debate on that end.

Come on, Mr Murray! There is a GEM-beating streak to maintain here!

Bah !

Was though never particularly optimistic about this first tournament since Wimbledon.

At least he picked up 180 ranking points for just one win.

QF: (8) Andy Murray WR 9 lost to (13) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) WR 15 (CH 5 in 2012) 7-6(5) 4-6 6-4

That loss ends his 8-match winning streak against Tsonga and his 18-match winning streak against Frenchmen, the latter stretching back nearly 2 years

However, he still has a 21-match winning streak against GEMs in slams stretching back over 6 years to his previous loss to Tsonga at the 2008 Aus Open

Confidence issue ? Training went really well, so can only put it down to lack of confidence/rustiness.

I don't think the walkover helped - he needs matches more than rest.
