Week 32 - ATP Masters 1000 - Toronto, Canada - Hard

L32: (8) Andy Murray WR 10 v Santiago Giraldo (COL) or (WC) Nick Kyrgios (AUS)

Doesn't seem worth filling in the rankings for an either/or when new rankings will be out before his opponent is decided.

The 'route' is then ...

R3: (12) Gasquet
QF: (1) Djokovic
SF: (3) Wawrinka
FINAL: (2) Federer

Nasty draw tbh.

Never going to get an easy draw when you're outside of the top 4 seeds, I suppose. I had to laugh when I saw the R2 set up though, only Andy could draw a possible tie with Kyrgios after Wimbledon.

I think he's lucky Rafa's out or it coulda been worse. I only hope he can get his ranking back up. I don't hold out much hope next week with that draw though. I bet his opponents aren't that pleased either!

Hopefully, it will be "opponents" plural.

If he had had a recent tournament, I'd be very confident that would be the case, but I'm always a bit concerned when Andy has been AWOL for a little while.

Wretched, stinking draw. Good luck to him. Fortunately, he's sometimes done his best with bad draws ...

...and sometimes awful looking draws have kind of evaporated.

Oh dear. I was hoping for a good run here to help him climb back up the rankings. Still, as Spectator and Indie have said, sometimes he does better with a bad draw than with one which looks easy. Fingers, toes, eyes, everything crossed for him.

Well, I should be able to watch this, if I can get onto tennistv - I've had problems with that the last few days. They do have a live "help" button, but if you can't get onto the site, you can't use it. . .
