Tremendous ! Such progress, they are looking more and more the real deal.
And whether or not injury concerns were a factor in Anna so committing to her partnership with Joss, and barely playing any singles, it even moreso is looking for me the right choice.
I wonder if Steven would consider adding a top 10 doubles players table to cater for the keen doubles players to his excellent set of statistical tables?

My guess is he'd say ' Be my guest, go ahead'
It's not the first (or second or third ...) time I've been asked but yes, CD has worked out the answer. Doubles tables would definitely be nice to have (and I even know exactly how I'd do them) but I have enough trouble keeping up with all the singles players these days (fitting it around work and all the other things that make up life!), so I daren't try starting to do them too.
Anyone who wants to try has at least got the singles tables as a basis for working out which columns would be needed, which might need to be added (like 'partner this week') for doubles and which could be left out.

I've started building a table, but at the moment it is limited to Joss, Anna, Hev and Naomi. It's still a work in progress. 4 players is enough to manage. I've not even looked at a men's table with so many top doubles players....
The hardest thing I am finding is working out when points come off.
I'll try and post something on the forum at some stage.
Easy, just go into their results over the last year and find the 11 best counters :)
OK, that's essentially what I did for Joss and Anna and tabulated and are helpfully now becoming the same table. But is there anything much more helpful ??
( Actually, I'm not even aware of anything for the women's singles other than Steven's tables ).

It was only a vague hope, but I fully understand. I have been keeping some tennis stats of my own for some years but have cut down as I find I no longer have the energy to keep them up to date.
SF: Jos Rae & Anna Smith CR 221 (111+110) vs Hiroko Kuwata & Kurumi Nara (JPN/JPN) CR 1094 (229+865)
The Japanese girls, the conquerors of Nic & EWS in the first round, advanced at the expense of the third seeds, Vania King & Taylor Townsend, who retired at 0-0 (walkover?), so on the face of it, a golden opportunity for Jos & Anna to make the final. Dare we hope...?
