RE: Week 30 - Challenger ($50,000) - Lexington, KY, USA (Hard)

Dino finally breaks Millot again to take a  *3-2 lead in the second.  Now, will he proceed to lose the match from here...?

For once, he doesn't, winning by 7-6(4) 4-2 retired!    phew-941.gif

That's an important win, no matter how it came. Can't be looking for anything less than final points now, surely. Keep going, Dino.

1st challenger SF for Wardy this year, a good showing so far, hopefully he can retain his title! Shame that he will now miss the Washington 500 quallies though

Strange match and strange retirement.

James was easily the better player, but his serve was a bit inconsistent and he couldn't finish off Millot with all those break points.

Millot was really struggling on serve and going for everything, which I suspect made the match rather unpredictable for James.

Still another win and more points in the bag and a good chunk of last years win defended already.

QF:  (5) James Ward WR 150 defeated Vincent Millot (FRA) WR 188 by 7-6(4) 4-2 retired

but he'll need all his water on to beat the drug cheat in the semi:

SF:  Wayne Odesnik (USA) 183 vs (5) James Ward WR 150

If he cannot play Washington, I assume he can play Vancouver on a SE.

I do really dislike Odesnik. Hoping James can avenge 2011 and stuff him.

Had to go and missed the end, but thank goodness he got through, however it happened!

QF: (5) James Ward WR 150 beat Vincent Millot (FRA) WR 188 (CH 147 in 2011) by 7-6(4) 4-2 ret.

SF: (5) James Ward WR 150 v Wayne Odesnik (USA) WR 183 (CH 77 in 2009)

H2H 1-2 - James won on clay in Sarasota in 2011, Odesnik on hard 5 & 4 here in Lexington in 2011 and in 3 sets in Aptos in 2013
