RE: Week 30 - Challenger ($50,000) - Lexington, KY, USA (Hard)

The 'quack' man is on the upgrade, qualified and took Gasquet to 5 sets at Wimby. He seems to be a very good example for young players, gradually progressed from day 1 on the senior circuit and looks like he's going to maximise his potential.

Hopefully though Wardy will just sqeak this one.

Great to see this result when I got back today

Wardy has only played Lexington 3 times - runner-up in 2012, winner in 2013 and a finalist again in 2014 - I wonder why it suits him so much.

Oops, yes - he's made the final all 3 times he has played there but he didn't play there in 2012

They're going to play indoors. Whether it will be streamed or not, I don't know.

James broke back for *3-4 only to immediately get broken again and Duckworth is now serving for the 1st set

Ouch Duckworth gets revenge for last year's final:

FINAL: (5) James Ward WR 150 lost to (6) James Duckworth (AUS) WR 164 (CH 132 last Nov) by 3 & 4

I was worried that Mr Duckworth would still find a way to an effective result in a rain effected match. Probably been in consultation with his friend, Mr Lewis.

Hopefully they can still be warded off.

He might well have lost anyway, especially if Duckworth has improved a lot, but Wardy must be one of the few GB players to be at a disadvantage when a match is moved indoors.
