Until Evo's knee is back to 100% we're not going to see the best of him.
The minor knee injury obviously hasn't helped things this year all indicators are that Dan's biggest problem remains the same as it has always been. To be perfectly blunt if his experiences over the last year or so haven't convinced him to dedicate himself completely to tennis then I am increasingly doubtful that anything will. Unless something radical happens, and at the moment I don't see it happening, he will be dropping about 100 places over the next two months.
HGM, travelling from the UK ( presumably ), 5 hours time difference, the preferable east to west direction and no clear reason that he should be arriving relatively late, I wouldn't be thinking jetlag
It is clearly a pity if the knee is causing Dan problems, but while having support bandages back at Queens and Wimbledon time, his movement did seem fine. Maybe his motivation was more then ?
Unfortunately for his ranking, he hasn't got his defenses in first and faces 235 points coming off in the next 6 weeks.
Currently 404 points - WR 147.
If none of these 235 points from two challenger finals and the US Open are replaced, he would be back on 169 points, currently equivalent to a WR in the low 280s.
Any knee injury that you can play through is quite obviously a relatively minor injury and there has been no indication in any of his matches during the grass court season or today that it has any major impact on his movement.
