Boys and Girls: Week 26: Other news round-up

Although all the main attention is on Roehampton this week, there are quite a few lower ranked ITF tournaments happening this week with young Brits playing, some going very well and some not so well(!), but it seems more efficient to group them together:

Tunisia, Grade 4

All three lads came through the qualifiers and then, with the two girls, completed a round of first-round victories for all our guys !

R1 Boys:

Josh PISTORIUS (GBR) (q)   7-5 6-2     Mohamed OUALHA (TUN) [8]

Mohamed ABDEL-AZIZ (GBR) (q)     4-6 6-3 7-6(5)     Aziz OUAKAA (TUN)

Lawrence PERRIN (GBR) (q)     6-1 6-0     Haythem BOUHLEL (TUN)

R1 Girls:

Donia ABDEL-AZIZ (GBR)     7-6(5) 6-2     Zainab BENDAHHOU (MAR)

Katarina WEYMOUTH (GBR) [8]     6-0 6-1     Hanine BOUDJADI (ALG)

Denmark, Grade 5

First round losses for Ryan Gaskin, Jack Molloy, Ben Draper.

Charles Broom and Megan Rogers both won their first match and lost the second.

Barnaby Smith, 13th seed, did best, managing to win two rounds before losing to the third seed, in a tight match.

Georgia, Grade 5

Giles HUSSEY (GBR) (SE)   6-7(3) 6-3 6-3     Syrry Can KORKMAZ (TUR) [6]

Fiji, Grade 4

Going well, with three rounds of wins, including taking out some good seeds :)

R1: Piers FOLEY (GBR) [11] - BYE

R1: Luke HAMMOND (GBR)     6-1 6-1     Tito BIRA (KIR)

R2: Luke HAMMOND (GBR)     7-5 5-7 6-3     Stefan SKADARKA (AUS) [2]

R2: Piers FOLEY (GBR) [11]     6-3 6-2     Michael COMMINGS (AUS)

R3: Piers FOLEY (GBR) [11]     6-1 6-2     Themi SITZOUKIS (AUS)

R3: Luke HAMMOND (GBR)     7-6(3) 6-3     Pratt KEERASUNTONPONG (NZL) [15]

Bermuda, Grade 5

R1: Georgina SANDERS (GBR)     6-1 6-2     Alyssa MAYO (USA)

R1: Sofia BLANNO (USA)     6-4 6-2     Jada TIJANI (GBR)

R1: Mia SMITH (GBR) [6]     4-6 6-3 6-0     McKenzie MAJERLE (USA)
