She's clearly very talented, big forehand and very aggressive - a couple of points here and there and it would be the opposite scoreline. She's got a lot of potential for sure. Needs to work on her backhand and variety. But all very promising!
I watched Gabi's first set and agree with all of your comments - I also thought she showed a good temperament in that she didn't let setbacks get to her and if she develops a bit more power in her ground stokes her aggressive approach will really start to pay off a lot more.
Only three games in but unfortunately Katie has lost all of them. A lot of errors, especially off the backhand. Black really is only keeping the ball in play.

The girls final is a repeat of Roehampton between Jelena Ostapenko and Kristina Schmiedlova. To put Nastya's 6-4 6-3 defeat in round 1 in context only one player this week and one last week (just) have managed to get more games off the Latvian
Jelena Ostapenko started slowly but seemed to go up a couple of gears and was completely dominant by the end, judging from the snatches I saw - winning 2-6 6-3 6-0 for her 12th win in a row
