And now 2-2

Looks like it's going to be tight all the way.

We've had Harriet and Holly who were both SO SO close - it's be nice if one of the close ones went our way . . . :)

Way to go Maia !

As I say, we deserved one :)

Nastya lost the first set 6-4

But Izzy and Katie(y?) Swan are a break up - although early days

Katie loses 6-4 6-4. Shame, thought she would win that one but she's still young and potentially has 3 more junior wimbledons in her.

I'm sure we'll see her rise again back on the hardcourts in the states

Sone great wins and other very encouraging performances in defeat. Seems we have a crop of talented young women

Overall an encouraging round 1. Only Izzy was a clear favourite to win, with Gabi and Katie B marginal favourites (Gabi's opponent has had some good results recently, including a top 10 scalp at Roehampton) but the rest were favourites to lose, so a great result for Maia. Katie's second round match could be on soon, but the boys top seed (Rublev) is in a real battle on court 19 currently 5-6 in the third

Nastya lost 6-4 6-3. Maia should know her second round opponent well from Tennis Europe under 14 events as they were both top tenners in the same year

R2

(WC) Gabriella Taylor v Tami Grende (INA)
Margot Yerolymos (FRA) v Katie Boulter
Michaela Gordon (USA) v Isabelle Wallace
(Q) Dalma Galfi (HUN) v (WC) Maia Lumsden

Rublev has scraped through 14-12 so Katie should be on in 15 minutes

Anyone know when / if the juniors start to be streamed? I seem to remember they get televised towards the latter half of this week?

Sorry Margot but, as predicted, Katy finishes it off nicely: 6-3 6-3

Keep going Katie :)
