Katie Boulter, Izzy Wallace, Katie Swan and Freya Christie are direct acceptances here, whilst Emily Arbuthnott, Gabi Taylor, Maia Lumsden, Harriet Dart, Emily Smith, Jasmine Asghar, Mirabelle Njoze, Jodie Burrage and Anastasia Mikheeva are candidates for main draw wildcards (Emily A might have got in on ranking if there was a late withdrawal).
Jodie is up at the Liverpool invitational playing Bartoli tomorrow - not sure what her plans are for next week.
Ken Thomas is commentating on the tournament (Tara Moore was up first today). According to Twitter Marion was unfortunately forced to retire so Jodie can say that she beat a current Wimbledon champion.
Good point Simon about Sophie - she is on the acceptance list as well
Back to qualifying and the results of round 1 are on the ITF site. Lana managed to win her first match back after long-term injury and Lauryn John-Baptiste beat the seeded Rebecca Smaller. Apart from Beccy the seeds all won.
Thanks - they suggest that Mirabelle and Sophie have missed out unless Emily made the main draw on ranking.
One of the wildcards may have difficulty focusing next week. Jodie Burrage has just won the Liverpool tournament, following up her win against the current Wimbledon champion with a straight sets victory over a player who is in this year's draw (Tara Moore). Indeed Jodie is following in the footsteps of several players in this year's draw (Coco Vandeweghe won last year, and Belinda Bencic, Genie Bouchard, Michelle Larcher De Brito , Martina Hingis and Caroline Wozniacki were the previous 5 winners)
As with the boys just 1 qualifier - Anna Brogan edging out the seventh seed. Lana Rush came close to a fine win, going down 4-6 7-6(7) 6-2 to Emilie Francati being unable to convert a matchpoint. The main draw comes out tomorrow evening

4 of the 5 lucky losers are Brits as well, so there are no less than 20 Brits in the main draw - http://www.lta.org.uk/NewWebsite/LTA/Documents/Fans%20News%20and%20Major%20Events/Results/2014/Nike%20Junior%20International%20Roehampton/Girls%20Singles%20Main%20Draw.pdf

An extraordinary number of lucky losers for a junior ITF event, even though there is a larger gap than usual between qualifying and main draw. Will Gabi find Tornado Black a tougher proposition than Sofia Arvidsson?
