Excellent win for Izzy and that should see her ranking climb substantially. Especially with grass to come where that swinging leftie serve will be very effective.

Don't want to be too controversial, but Izzy should really be concentrating on playing main tour events rather than juniors. I'm hoping Roehampton and Wimbledon will be the last junior tournaments she plays.

This is her last year as a junior and she is a decent junior with no main tour ranking yet. She needs to do what Harriet, Katy and Katie have done and leave the juniors alone and push onto the tour.

Well, if she's in her last year she, presumably very soon, has no choice but to move on from juniors ? I guess it depends on her studies too - is she doing her A levels/Scottish Highers this year?

 

NB Didn't realise that Izzy had spent so much of her 'youth' in AUstralia.

@sportdw on Twitter tells me he thinks Izzy is the first GB girl to get into R3 at Roland Garros juniors for 20 years! (certainly, Laura, Hev, Anne & Bally never managed it) - maybe David will be able to confirm or deny that later.
