This traditional final preparation event for the French Open started today with Izzy Wallace claiming a win from behind, but Joel Cannell being well beaten.  Emily Smith got lucky by drawing a local wildcard after losing out in qualifying

Although Emily duly won her opener there was no joy for either her or Izzy in round 2 against the seeds. Joel and Izzy are still involved in the doubles though.

Izzy has made it through to the doubles semis, and as a result may have a Special Exempt to Roland Garros.

The doubles semi is currently on court. The scratch pair had the temerity to take the first set 6-4, but have been bagelled in set 2, and are in to a match tiebreak
