Boys: Nike Junior International Nottingham (week 1), hard - Grade 4 (Week 16)

As usual Nottingham hosts a couple of G4s over Easter. The top 14 seeds are all British, with Lewis Roskilly and Ben Stride at 1 and 2, plus Max Stewart at 8 and Isaac Stoute at 12 amongst others. A key round 1 clash is between tenth seed Jonathan Gray and Max's '99 World Junior Tennis compatriot Finn Bass.

The main draw is at http://www.lta.org.uk/NewWebsite/LTA/Documents/Fans%20News%20and%20Major%20Events/Results/2014/Nike%20Junior%20International%20Nottingham/Boys%2018U%20Singles.pdf

Jonathan edged out Finn while several seeds fell, including Luke Oakley, Daniel Bennett and Stefan Cooper (seeded 5-7) but Isaac survived a third set tiebreak.

I think Joe Woolley may have a good week. Home turf, good player.

Big win for young Jack Molloy (a '99), taking out second seed Ben Stride. Another '99 Max Stewart moved smoothly to the only all-seeded R3 contest against Malta finalist Marcus Walters

Jack Molloy continued his run. Marcus beat Max and Joe Woolley continued his fine run.

Again 7GB players into the QF with just 1 US player standing in the way.

The boys draw seems a bit of a mess with a lot of the bigger seeds crashing out. Will be interesting to see who wins now

Well I saw Joe beat Marcus in Wirral qualis, but it was close.

I expect it to be close again. both are very talented.
