Yes, 40 points, less his current lowest optional of 12, so a net gain of 28 points.

 Thanks

Jeez, 15 years in British education and the only chant they've got is "Let's go Andy let's go"

Agreed. The most horrid chant I've ever heard. Vocally abysmal support.

murray's basically told the lta to play the 1/4 final in scotland. suggested making a temporary grass court. leon also didnt say no to the idea of celtic park being used!

I feel that I have been holding my breath for 3 days. Now I can breathe! (at least until Andy's first match in IW - or even the qualifying!)

There must be somewhere suitable for a grass court in Scotland with a big enough crowd

as said above could convert celltic park into a temporary tennis court. then you would have 40-50,000 people the french used liles football ground for a tie

Ha Ha, well Andy certainly said the grass part, although not that I heard that he necessarily wanted grass. I think he was more just assuming that it would be grass. And he also said this had been a great crowd and atmosphere.

I doubt that he has actually given it much thought, he wasn't even sure that the France match was at home ( which I can understand for a focussed sportsman, often the fans know draws much better ).

I think the BBC, and indeed Leon, were reading more into what he said immediately after his match than was really there.

Certainly against France and their likely players there is surely a discussion to be had about whether grass, outdoor hard ( would need to construct sufficient capacity ) or indoor hard is the way to go. It won't happen, but one could make an arguement that with the current French side, clay might not be the worst option.

I don't know whether Wimbledon is a possibilty the weekend after the Championships.

Indeed. For some reason though Celtic might be playing in July!

Here's a question: do dead rubbers count in official ATP results?

Think Andy was clearly stating that he would prefer the grass . I think he's right but can't see the Lta getting their backside out of gear and laying a grass court north of the border . July will be during the grass court season when Andy and the team all will have had grass tournament matches and practice under their belt

Grass would definitely give Andy & doubles team an edge although not so sure it would favour wardy . It would also be the right time of year following on from the Eastbourne , queens & Wimbledon

we have potentially got an national Aegon play off match on 18/7 and hope Davis cup SF it's at Eastbourne where I am club captain of Devonshire park  - by the way we are short of men's players in Sussex div 2 if anyone is interested & an out of down couples membership is only £120 which is less than the cost of the 1 week pass for Eastbourne Aegon international Which Jamie & wardy often play in .
