Don't think you can buy it.  Read somewhere that it's not an advert for Ted Baker sportswear - that doesn't exist.  One offs designed for a friend.

Yep, there was an article posted somewhere else I think but I'm not sure where.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/tennis/australianopen/11358928/British-tennis-number-two-James-Wards-unlikely-new-mentor-is-fashions-Ted-Baker.html

But basically he became friends with Ray Kelvin, Ted Baker himself, the guy who founded the brand and as The O says they are just for him. Pretty cool that Wardy gets exclusive kits.

Kelvin designed Wards mauve and floral outfit himself, but do not bother looking for it in the shops. This is not part of an attempt to diversify into sportswear, and he insists that he will not make tennis gear for anyone else, even if Roger Federer should come calling.

There's also a foxsports story on on James' paisley number (Wouldn't wear it but I think I quite like it) that quotes Kelvin from a different interview.

In an interview with FashionMag.com in January, Kelvin warned against launching a sportsline of any kind. "I love tennis and so I created a complete outfit for the leading English player, James Ward, a man I love. It is made out of technical materials but has genuine style. But we are not going to launch out into sport. That's not our identity."

I saw earlier in this thread speculation over whether in the event that Murray wins and takes the tie 3-1 if a 5th rubber has to be played and if so who is eligible to play it.

I believe the rule is that if Andy were to win in straight sets a 5 rubber would have to be played, however if he were to win in 4 or 5 sets then the captains can agree to not play the dead rubber.

I don't know if Edmund/Broady would be able to play a dead rubber although personally in the event that Murray wins in straights I'd like to see Dom play the dead rubber

I have just invested in some Ted Baker gear to play tennis in this year the pork pie hat will definitely improve my game. The travesty is that those that are interested in tennis are not in his target demographic, if they were we would be so much better at tennis and that is exactly where the LTA should be spending their cash.

I would be pretty sure that the Indian Wells qualifiers are designed to give Davis Cup players enough time to get there.

It does seem a rather obvious potential conflict that neither the ITF or ATP would want to have.

So, I assume the qualifiers start later than Monday and / or the scheduling takes account of Davis Cup players potentially playing live rubbers on Sunday.

The draw for Indian Wells qualifying is on Monday with play getting underway on Tuesday. James should have no issues getting there!

What would we learn from Dom a doubles specialist playing a singles rubber ?

If GB pick two doubles specialists in the team of 4 in the future, including Dom, circumstances could conspire that one of the doubles specialusts has to play a live rubber. Dom would be a better bet than Jamie. So, there would be some logic in playing Dom, albeit in a dead rubber.

let's hope Isner is still tired job not done yet but Isner is still dangerous and it's not always easy to close out !

Andy with his return of serve is great match up for the big server and surely Andy will have too many weapons for Isner to cope with . The spirit in the US team is not great and I think the yanks already think they have blown it ! mentally they are already beaten !

The official Davis Cup website has the court as a "medium fast" hard court.

Hmm, a slow one would be interesting. I think the court pace has been well chosen, but how they got the word "fast" anywhere in there defeats me.

Isner has started well andy has got to stay calm and keep moving him around he's a big guy surprised Andy happy to keep going across court - keep him moving side to side
